There was chaos at the Roseau Market at midday today Saturday 20th August as a man drove his van into shoppers and vendors on the Roseau River side of the market.

Luckily no-one was seriously injured but about three people were taken by ambulance to the Princess Margaret Hospital (PMH).

Eyewitness told the SUN that the driver may have blacked-out because he did not appear to be intoxicated and fortunately the yellow plastic trays on which produce is displayed for sale absorbed much of the impact.

The incident should prompt the police to place restrictions on vehicular traffic within the Roseau market on Fridays and Saturdays during the busiest periods.
