Dr. Francis Severin, Director of the UWI Open Campus Countries Sites, will deliver the inaugural Social Security Board & UWI Open Campus Anguilla Distinguished Lecture Series as part of that island's Social Security Week 2015. The event, which is free and open to the public, is scheduled for Thursday, 5th November at 7:00 p.m. at the La Vue Conference Room.

Dr. Severin, who is also the Public Orator for the UWI Open Campus, is responsible for the overall management of the 44 Open Campus Sites across the region. He is a native of Dominica and the former Head of the Dominica Open Campus Site. Dr. Severin, who is known for his powerful oratory skills and commitment to education and intellectual development/stimulation as a guaranteed avenue for economic development and enhancement of people's self-esteem, will speak on the topic, "Putting people first: Grounding human well-being in a framework of social security."

This will be Dr. Severin's first official visit to Anguilla since his appointment to the position of Director in 2013 and this visit will include paying courtesy calls on Government and Education officials, as well as other stakeholders. He will also preside over the first local UWI Open Campus Recognition of Graduates Ceremony on Anguilla during that time.
