Anderson Jolly, the founder and proprietor of Jolly's Pharmacy, one of the leading pharmacies in Dominica died today in the United States.

Dr. Orrin Jolly described his father as a humble and honest man in a statement on Q95 FM this morning.

"My father is the greatest man I ever knew," he said.

"Our family has suffered a great loss today ... it truly saddens me. He was a Blessing to our family. Calm, Patient, Humble, Kind, Gracious God fearing man who LOVED his family & friends. You have left your legacy… it's our duty to continue to live our lives with your expectations in mind," said Sandy Lassere on Facebook. "Your presence in our life will be missed.. Rest in Eternal Peace".

Employees of the Jolly's, located on King George V Street and Great George Street in Roseau said they were saddened by the loss.

"Mr. Jolly was not just a boss," said an employee. "He was like a father to us."

Carlton Languedoc, the public relation officer of Jolly's said Jolly was "the type of manager that everybody wanted to work for. If you would have done something wrong, he would call you up in a private setting and discuss it."

Jolly's Pharmacy was established in 1980; in 2015 Jolly's was honoured at the Caribbean Pharmacy Association (CAP) conference held in Guyana where Jolly's received an award at the Caribbean Pharmacist Sigma Business Award in the Best Pharmacy category. That award honours deserving pharmacies throughout the region that demonstrates the best of the pharmacy business culture and provides the setting, service and support for community.
