A fire gutted a small, old wooden building that stood next to the Arawak House of Culture on Kennedy Avenue on Saturday afternoon.

Fire fighters quickly brought the blaze under control and there were no reported injuries. The Arawak was not damaged.

It is anticipated that fire service officials will soon provide information on the cause of the fire.

The fire again highlights the danger of numerous old and dilapidated buildings in Roseau that are fire hazards as well as being breading grounds for rats and mosquitoes.

And they make the city look so ugly!
