The cultural village of Grand Bay has done it again. Akysa Jno. Baptiste from the Grand Bay Primary School has won the title of Ti Matador 2014.

She captured the awards for Best Creole Spectacular Wear, Best Pawol Kweyol and Best National Wear.

The pageant was held on November 2, 2014 at the Arawak House of Culture.

The Second Runner-up Award went to Jacinta Grant from the Giraudel Primary School and First Runner-up went to Simone Moses from the Morne Jaune Primary School; she captured the award for Best Performing Talent.

After her performance, Miss Jno. Baptiste said preparing for the show was hustling. She said that her favorite part of the show was the talent round.

She said she was not nervous throughout the show and was very confident that she would have won.

Second runner up, Jacinta Grant from the Giraudel Primary School said that preparing for the show was not difficult. She also added that her favorite round was Spectacular Wear because she loved being in her costume.

The annual pageant is organized by the Cultural Division to promote the Wob Dwiyet and Dominica's culture generally among young girls.

The Ti Matador 2014 won a free trip for two compliments X Press Des Isles; First Runner-up won a jewelry set from Quins Jewelry and Second Runner-up won an assortment of gifts.

All participants walked away with a case of Quenchi and other Quenchi paraphernalia.

Other schools participating in the pageant were Roosevelt Douglas Primary and Goodwill Primary.
