Roseau Dominica – February 24th, 2014. Telecommunications Company LIME has entered into an exclusive managed services agreement (MSA) with global provider Ericsson in an effort to restructure its operations. Under the deal which came into effect on February 22nd, 2014, Ericsson will manage the external component of LIME's fixed, mobile, Internet and data networks.

"This commercial decision is in an effort to reduce the cost of running our network. LIME remains committed to enhancing customer experience across our range of services and this decision best fits that goal. We felt it was strategically important to team up with a global leader in the industry and it is from this perspective that we agreed to go with Ericsson as a partner," said LIME's General Manager Jeffrey Baptiste.

"When we consider Ericsson's domain knowledge, economies of scale, network design, optimization and field maintenance, we are confident that we will be well positioned to provide service that is on par with best-in-class operators across the globe."

This agreement will see twenty-eight members of LIME's Service Support and Delivery and associated customer support teams separating from the company this month. As part of the agreement and to maintain employment levels, all of the impacted LIME employees were afforded the opportunity to reapply for roles with Ericsson. Seventy-eight percent of these employees have been re-hired by Ericsson.

Baptiste also shared that similar models have been implemented in other LIME Business Units. "The Jamaica implementation for example is already yielding positive results with them seeing a quantum leap in installation performance," he explained.

Today 40 per cent of the world's mobile traffic goes through Ericsson networks. The company manages networks that serve 1 billion subscribers worldwide and has more than 110,000 people that speak more than 100 languages working with customers in more than 180 countries.
