Premier League: Bath Estate Heading Towards Championship

Former three-peat champions, Scotiabank Bath Estate who had three matches in hand going into the carnival weekend were within two points of securing their fourth Lime Premier Football League title. On 33 points from 13 matches only Sagicor South East (22 points from 12 matches) had any chance of catching up with the runaway league leaders with a maximum 34 points, if South East won their remaining four games while Bath Estate lost their last three.

In fact all Bath Estate would need from these three matches in hand is one point since at this stage of the competition they enjoyed a goal difference of 32 (45-13) against South East's two (21-19). South East would have to go on an unprecedented goal-spree in those four matches to deny Bath Estate.

Dublanc could reach 33 points with wins in their last four matches. But with a goal difference of three (27-24) Dublanc would also have to embark on a harvest of goals.

Scotiabank Bath Estate virtually secured the 2012-2013 premiership title when they whipped their nearest rivals by three goals to nil at Geneva, Grand Bay last time out. The continuously recruiting Bath Estate were served by a brace of goals from Hugo Riley and one by Delbert Graham.

Dublanc last time out at Benjamin Park, Portsmouth played to a 2-all draw with the persistent Wacky Rollers of Layou. Rollers moved to seven points from 10 matches with seven drawn results. Ai-cons joined fellow Newtown team and defending champions KFC Harlem United on 17 points after taking full toll of Sam Martin Pointe Michel 3-2 at Geneva.

RIC Kensbro and former champions and defending knockout champions Northern Concrete & Steel Bombers of Portsmouth played to a 1-all draw. Joachim Dominique scored for Kensbro while Vincent Joseph netted for Bombers.

The points standing reads: 1-Bath Estate 33 from 13 matches, 2-South East 22-12, 3-Dublanc 21-12, 4-Harlem 17-12 (3), 5-Ai-cons 17-12 (-5), 6-Pte Michel 13-12, 7-Kensbro 9-12 Bombers 8-11, and Rollers 7-10.
