Shari Peter now has new responsibilities.

The fifteen year old from the St. Johns Academy in Portsmouth who won the 2014 Miss Teen Dominica crown last Sunday night said the title is significant.

"I have to be an example to the youth", she told DBS radio. "Now seeing that they will now look up to me I have to be the best I can be."

At the show held at the Windsor Park Sports Shari won prizes for: Best Evening Wear; Best in Evening Wear; Best spectacular wear and Best Response to Questions.

First runner up was Dana Peltier of the Convent High School; she won the Best Speech award. Second runner up was Kadeen Etienne of St Martin Secondary School (Best in spectacular wear). Third runner up is Natasha Laurent of the Dominica Grammar School (Miss Photogenic).

Miss Amity was Deidra Cuffy of the Goodwill Secondary School. Eight secondary schools participated in the pageant.
