Veteran Calypsonian Freedy "Man Himself" Mendes has died.

He passed away this morning at the Princess Margaret Hospital; he was taken to the PMH yesterday complaining of chest pains. The cause of death has not been certified.

Apart from being one of Dominica's top calypsonians Mendes was a teacher at the St. Martin's Secondary School.
