Theatre goers have a final chance to see the much-talked-about play, Madame Speaker, this weekend. The event which is presented by the Cultural Division of Dominica and the National Cultural Council is a formal part of Dominica's DOMFESTA activities for 2014.

Madame Speaker will be shown at the Arawak House of Culture on Friday and Saturday (May 9 – 10) from 8:00pm. The production moves to the W.S Stevens School in Marigot on Sunday from 6:00pm for the grand finale.

The play is described as a heavy political drama, which makes light work of the elements in Dominica's politics. Patrons are promised an entertaining play which is seriously hilarious. Rashida Gachette, Dr. Velda Wade, Marja 'Lady Star' Jeffers, Shanon John, Colmore Daniel, Naiomi Azile, Analia Jones and Cornell Charles are among the major characters in Madame Speaker.

Madame Speaker is Téyat Pawòl's 16th play and its 19th production since 2001. The Writer/Administrative Artistic Director is Alex Bruno. The groups' next production, 'Douvan Jou', is carded to come out later this year.

Advance tickets for Madame Speaker are available at Bulls Eye Pharmacy in Roseau and Shop & Save and Village Pharmacy in Marigot.
