Twenty Dominican Students Attend UWI Open Campus Graduation
Twenty of the forty Dominican graduates of the University of the West Indies (UWI) Open Campus Dominica attended that institution's Graduation Ceremony at the Gaiety in Gros Islet, St. Lucia on Saturday, October 11, 2014.
Eighteen of those students were awarded Undergraduate degrees while two received Masters Degrees during the ceremony. Diana Pascal (BSc Management Studies), Louise Cornelius (BEd Educational Leadership & Management), Mrs. Bernadette Vidal (BEd Literacy Studies) and Marah McIntyre-St. Rose & Carla Roudette (BSc Banking & Finance) graduated with First Class Honours.
Sir Brian Alleyne, former Justice of Appeal at the Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court, was awarded the Honourary Doctor of Law (LLD) degree at the Graduate Ceremony as well.
The UWI Open Campus is the youngest campus of the 65-year-old University of the West Indies and was formally launched in Antigua & Barbuda in June 2008. The UWI Open Campus offers multi-mode teaching and learning services through virtual and physical site locations across the Caribbean region. There are currently 44 site locations of the Open Campus in the English-speaking Caribbean.
