ROSEAU, Dominica, 15 January 2015 (SUN) - Wynante Adrien –Roberts, Former Solicitor General of Dominica has been appointed Deputy Attorney General of the Turks and Caicos Islands, the TCI Affairs blog has reported. And TCI does not seem to be happy about the appointment.

The publication stated that the Governor reversed a decision of the Public Service Commission (PSC) and made the appointment of Adrien-Roberts himself; the PSC had earlier appointed a local attorney.

"There's no doubt that Wynante Adrian-Roberts is well qualified and have the requisite experience but this publication has been informed by persons who claim to be in the know that Khalila Artwood is capable, competent and was a good choice for the job," TCI Affairs stated. "What happened to the empowerment of qualified and capable Turks and Caicos Islanders who are willing and ready to serve? Has this policy ran off the tracks before it got off the ground?"

Adrien Roberts holds a Master of Laws degree in International Law, Business, Trade and Environment from George Washington University, an LEC from the Norman Manley Law School in Jamaica and an LLB from the University of the West Indies.

Just before leaving Dominica to take up her new job, Adrien-Roberts was employed at her private chambers, as well as at the International Business Unit and at the Attorney General's office. She is the president of the Dominica Bar Association.
