The old firm of Signman X-Men, defending champions and Gatorade Blazers, former champions will decide the DOMLEC Premier League of the 2013 LIME DABA Basketball season. Once again, the experience of X-Men and Blazers was very much in evidence in their best of three semi finals against Dr Mac Prowlers, 2013 league runners up and United Insurance Sharks, regular season champions.

X-Men swept Prowlers 2-0, while Blazers had to pull out all the stops to get past Sharks 2-1.

The No 3 ranked X-Men edged out Prowlers 81-80 and 83-80 in spite of suspensions from courtside on coaches Mickey Joseph (4) and Milton Paul (3) for infractions in their quart-final series. On song for X-Men were Peter Ricketts 18 & 14 points, Joseph Hypolite 17 & 15, Simon Joseph 15, Davidson Toulon 12 & 10, Austin Nichols 16 and Leeford Joseph 12; and for Prowlers, Fitzgerald Daniel 22, Junior Isles 21 & 22, Joel McIntyre 20 & 19, Craig St Rose 17 and Ronald Bruno 10.

X-Men won their best of three quarter-finals Paix Bouche Eagles, 2-1.

Sharks won the opening match 88-77. Blazers took the second match 78-61and the decider 75-72 to advance to the finals. For Blazers in that third match, Thomas Felix led all scorers with 30 points. Lee Laforce got 10 and Javed Joseph 9. For Sharks, Clem Nicholas had 26 points, Royce Caesar 16 and Ian Lazar 12.

Blazers won their best of three quarter-finals with Sobe Pros 2-1. Vitamalt League

Police Sports Club have won their first national basketball championship ever by posting a 2-1 victory over Elvis Morancie Welding Services Green Hornets in their best of three matches for the Vitamalt Division II title in the 2013 Lime DABA Basketball League.

Police gained the early ascendancy by taking the first match at Lindo Park with Green Hornets storming back to win game two and force the decider. And it was Police again ahead by final whistle 79 points to 68 to hoist the Vitamalt award. Lenny Dangleben continued to lead the Police arrest with 15 points. Floyd Theodore contributed 14, Javeed Prince 12 and Anderson Pierre 12. For Green Hornets, Errol Blaize had a match high 28 points. Dwayne Registe had 15 and Dillon Mendes 13. Regular season champions, La Plaine Avengers, went out at the semi-final stage after winning the first of their best of three series with Police Sports Club. Police won 2-1 with a blowout 64-44-point win in the deciding match. Green Hornets came from behind to eliminate Mahaut Gators 2-1.

Pizza Hut Delivery League

Fashion Line Falcons of Pichelin have the opportunity to be the unchallenged dominant team in the Pizza Hut Delivery Division 1 competition if they can stay the course in their best of five finals with Goodwill Starz.

At time of writing they led 2-1 after edging out Starz 73-69 in match #3. Yannick Registe continued to lead the scoring for Falcons with 25 points, with Kijuan Thomas very supportive with 23. Kelsey Guye led Starz with 18 points, and Kensworth Bedminster 16.

Falcons beat Shanks Juggernauts of Salisbury 2-0 in their best of three semi-finals with Starz winning by the same margin versus 2012 champion E H Charles Crossover. Juggernauts won their best of three series with Ole Skool 2-1, and Crossover swept Kelvar Darroux's Hurricane of St Joseph 2-0.
