Fast Cash Dominica has handed over 47 vouchers for mammograms and PSA (Prostatic Specific Antigen) to the president of the society, Kathleen Cornelius. The vouchers consist of 17 mammograms and 30 PSAs. The donations were made at the company's office.

The money lending company operations supervisor, Kenita Dorival said, "This is our contribution towards the community to help save at least one life. With this donation we hope to help women and men who are unable to pay for mammograms and PSA."

Kathleen Cornelius, also a cancer survivor, in expressing thanks to the company, reported that breast cancer is the fifth leading cause of death among women in Dominica.

"We know that women are being diagnosed with breast cancer and often it is detected at a late stage," she said.

This initiative, she said, will provide women with an opportunity to get tested.

"Today with this venture women who are unable to afford a monogram can now do so," she said.

The president of the cancer society outlined how the vouchers will be used. She stated that the clients will first be screened and if further investigations are needed, a voucher will be issued.

She applauded the efforts of Fast Cash in the fight against cancer and urged other corporate citizens to join the fight in a cure for cancer.

Fast Cash Dominica has joined the other five islands of the OECS in this initiative. According to Kenita Dorival of Fast Cash Dominica, this venture will become an annual event. Fast Cash operates in the islands of St. Kitts, Antigua, St. Lucia, St. Vincent, Grenada and Dominica.
