Girl dies in accident

Twelve-year-old Kayla Jannene Pierre died and four others were hospitalised after a bus in which they were travelling struck an embankment and overturned last night, the police public relations officer John Carbon said.

They said the accident occurred at Wind Blow in an area between Hampstead and Calibishie.

The police said that 13 people were on the bus when the driver encountered difficulties and the vehicle plunged down a ravine.

Kayla was pronounced dead at the Marigot Hospital, while the four others, including the driver, were admitted.
