HAVANA, April 11 (Xinhua/Sun) --Athletes from seven countries plus the representatives of Cuba will attend the Youth Caribbean Championship of table tennis, to be held here from April 15-19, sports news website Jits quoted a sports official as saying on Friday.

Osmani Cajigal, methodologist of the national commission, said that the representatives of the hosting island will have to measure their skills against their counterparts from Dominican Republic, Dominica, Jamaica, Granada, Aruba, Barbados and Trinidad and Tobago.

Cuba will compete with two teams in each category, with players selected according to their position in the national ranking, which includes the sum of points in each of the tournaments comprising the competitive system of the local federation, according to Cajigal.

He ratified that the local athletes received an intense preparation, thus the island's national commission have great expectancies for them to achieve all the titles in every category.
