PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad – The Board of Directors of the West Indies Cricket Board held its first meeting for 2014 in Port of Spain on Friday March 21 and Saturday March 22.

At a media conference on Saturday, following the meeting, President Whycliffe 'Dave' Cameron announced that the Board of Directors approved the schedules for the West Indies versus New Zealand and West Indies versus Bangladesh series for the 2014 international season.

The New Zealand tour of the Caribbean scheduled for June and July will consist of three Tests and two Twenty20 Internationals.

The West Indies vs New Zealand Series is as follows:

June 8-12: First Test – Jamaica

June 16-20: Second Test – Trinidad

June 26-30: Third Test – Guyana

July 5: First T20I – Dominica

July 6: Second T20I – Dominica

Significantly, West Indies opening batsman Chris Gayle has appeared in 99 Tests and his 100th Test appearance is expected to be in the Jamaica Test. The WICB is preparing to celebrate the event and will announce further details in this regard subsequently.

The West Indies versus Bangladesh tour will consist of two Tests, three ODIs and one Twenty20 International.

The West Indies vs Bangladesh Series is as follows:

August 20: First ODI – Grenada

August 22: Second ODI – Grenada

August 25: Third ODI – St Kitts (day/night)

August 27: T201 – St Kitts (night game)

September 5-9: First Test – St Vincent

September 13-17: Second Test – St Lucia

The West Indies opened the international season of cricket in the Caribbean for 2014 in when they played England in three ODIs and three Twenty20 Internationals in February and March. The West Indies won the T20 Series 2-1 and the result was reversed for the ODI series. These matches were played in Antigua and Barbados.

The 2014 international cricket season in the Caribbean will comprise of a total of five Tests, six ODIs and six Twenty20 Internationals. (WICB)
