Farewell Daddy
By Ken Matthew Errol Bruney (Kenno B)
I never imagined this day would arrive, that I have to put pen to paper saying goodbye to my father, Michael Emanuel Bruney aka "Mikey.
This is indeed a very difficult time, as the COVID-19 pandemic is still on the offensive. It has only been weeks since the passing of my uncle Reggie Bruney, and now his brother; my father Mikey.
My entire body trembles as I write this. Not out of fear, or nervousness, but out of shock. If not all, but most of us have heard the term, "death comes like a thief in the night," however it still does not prepare you for the actual event. This case of course is not an exception.
I am humble and very proud to be Michael Emanuel Bruney` son. I have been listening to the tributes, along with the calls to the radio from the public, expressing love and respect to the giant of a man that he was to all. I personally have always been fascinated by his simplicity yet the impact he had on anyone, anytime he chose to.
I wish to express my heartfelt condolences to our entire family; his friends, or as he would say, "his comrades!" to his team from his days as a broadcaster with DBS Radio. I most definitely have these memories which I shall cherish for the rest of my life.
Rest in eternal peace Mr. Bruney. I vow to do my best to always represent you in every positive way, just as you have been a natural example of positivity in its entirety.
You're gone but never to be forgotten
