Sixteen people were injured on Monday afternoon when vehicle hit vehicle hit vehicle hit vehicle under the Canefield Cliffs.

It was a mess of metal and glass and blood and human suffering.

The police said on Tuesday morning that the collision occurred when a Honda CRV jeep, driven by Leroy Lazare, 26, of Bath Estate and a Toyota High Ace bus, driven by Calvin Williams of Wesley, and a Nissan bus, driven by Dalton Shillingford, slammed into each other on the newly built two-lane highway.

"According to what we have found out so far, the jeep was approaching in the opposite direction. The driver appeared to have lost control of the vehicle… and as such he was moving on the western lane," said police public relations officer Inspector Claude Weekes.
