President Savarin returns from medical check-up in Martinique

It is notified for general information that His Excellency the President Charles A. Savarin, D.A.H, accompanied by his wife, has returned to the State from Martinique today, Monday 6th January 2014.

Since his major surgery in June 2011, His Excellency visits his doctors in Martinique every six months for regular medical check-up. His Excellency the President left the State on Thursday, 2nd January 2014 and was due to return on Sunday, 5thJanuary 2014 but his return was delayed by one day due to high seas in St. Lucia which prevented the departure of the Ferry from St. Lucia on Sunday, 5thJanuary 2014.

Mr Conrad O. McIntyre, S.A.H, was designated and appointed to act in the office of President during His Excellency the President's absence.

The Office of the President is pleased to report that His Excellency's medical visit went very well. Please note that His Excellency the President's absence from the State was published in the Dominica Official Gazette on 2ndJanuary 2014, and his return to the State will also be gazetted on Thursday, 9thJanuary 2014 in light of the change in the date of his return.
