Dominica's indigenous people (known as the Kalinago, formally the Caribs) were Dominica's original

inhabitants; there are now 3000 Kalinagos (or Caribs); the majority live on a 37,000 acre territory on

Dominica's east coast.

The social and economic history of the Kalinagos was the highlight of "History Week" (Monday 6th- Friday

10th October, 2014), part of Dominica's 2014 Independence Celebrations. Here are
