Cyclists at the starting point of the OECS race this morning

At about 9 am on a gloomy and wet Sunday morning about 30 cyclists from Anguilla, St. Lucia, Antigua,Grenada, St Vincent and hosts, Dominica began pedalling their way to Portsmouth and back.

The race for the title of the first-ever OECS Cycling Championship started near the Pottersville Savannah, in Goodwill, Roseau following an extremely brief ceremony.

In addition to steep hills, sharp corners and precipitous down-hills, the bikers at this moment are battling torrential rain, the result of a tropical wave now affecting the island.

The first bikers are expected back at Pottersville by 11.30 am.
