Dutch United Make Good Start
Delnagis Soccermania champions Aeropost Dutch United continued their early good form in the 2013 LIME Harlem Football League with a three goals to two-victory over Digicel Newtown Juvenile FA in the first week of competition on the Newtown Savannah.
Bijon Hill, Deon Laurent and Gerard Charles scored for Dutch United with Aswad Polydore and Elmac Gachette getting on the score-sheet for NJFA.
Mark McManamus of Dutch United was voted man of the match (MOM).
Defending league champions, ACS Purple City started off with a 2-0 win against Young Stars, the 2011 champions. Fabio Roberts and Randolph Peltier were the scorers with teammate Magnum Allan being named MOM and recipient of the player of the week award, which comprises of $75 and a photograph compliments Caribbean Construction Ltd and Flash Muzik Land.
New team in the competition, Gully Dream Team whipped Ai-cons 6-0. Mitchel Joseph completed a hat-trick to be MOM. Hugo Riley, Presley Benjamin and Naille Lee were the other scorers.
St Mary's Credit Union Delton United beat Querk Side, another new team, 2-1. Jeffrey Quilos netted both goals to be voted MOM. Chad Henderson scored for Querk Side.
Dutch United won the two-day Delnagis Soccermania on a 3-2 penalty shoot-out with Gully Dream Team after a 1-all draw. Elmond Derrick, Dutch United and Calvin Christopher, Dream Team were the goal scorers.
In the semi finals, Dream Team beat Ai-cons 2-0 with Mitchel Joseph getting both goals, and Dutch United beat Purple City 3-2 on penalties after a goalless match.
